for 1080P gaming the GTX 1060 will do the job but for future proofing and as you mentioned no compromise go for the GTX 1070
i5 8400 will be enofgh as i am a intel guy so id suggest intel if possible why not go for the 8600K

8400 is definitely better. Although likely more expensive once you factor in the cost of a Z370 mobo. For 60 FPS gaming you'd probably never notice the difference though.

A 1060 is fine for 1080p/60 fps gaming, but if you think you might upgrade monitors and/or would like a bit more longevity from your build, a 1070 wouldn't hurt.

Hi,

I would go R5 1600 + 1070 is better choice for: At 1440/4k -> GPU more while at 1080 CPU more work load. Also the i5 8400 us 6/6 core/thread while the 1600 is 6/12 core/thread.
