More about psu making weird noise
  1. Sounds like the fan to me.

    What PSU is it?
  2. I'm not sure, I'll ask the guy I bought it off!

Should be right on the side of the PSU.
  4. In the video that was the side, will it be on the other side? if it is, I'll have to take it out

    It's likely...

Looks like a generic no name to me though.
  6. Also a few things, it seems the longer i'm on it the quieter it gets, and it doesn't do it under load, it's just constant

Shouldn't make any noise at all.
  8. When I look in the back there is a bit of dust on the fan, could that be the issue? it's not covered but theres a good amount

You can try and blow it out with air.
  10. Should I take the psu out and open it up? I'm not very good with that stuff so I didn't want to risk it but if thats the only way I guess ill have to, also before this my pc was SILENT

    Don't open it up.

Just blow it out with air.
  12. Okay, I tried to do that but I dont have any cans of air, I can order some!

Any local stores around that would carry it?
  14. Not that I know of, literally nothing good in my area haha
  15. If in the US any Walmart.
  16. I'm in the uk ;/
  17. Yes I agree sounds like a not so great fan bearing.

Most vacuum cleaners available have the option to take out the hose from the vacuum section and switch it to the blowing side. That should do the trick.
  18. I'll have a look if mine can do that!

Thanks guys :D I'll update you
  19. Mine cannot do that, would you guys say just buy a new one?
  20. What are your system specs?

If it's a generic, no name - and if financially feasible - yes changing for a good reliable one is always the best move.
  21. Not sure what my psu is, but I have a Intel I7 3930k - 32GB ram - Asus P9X79 MB - 4GB GeForce 960 - 2 x 240GB SSD
