I currently have fx-8350 and gtx 970, the GPU is good enough for me, but id like to upgrade cpu.

I believe DDR4 is not necessary, so what would be a good upgrade, will happily buy used.
i7-4970k? It's really expensive tho..4670k?
Idk, want you guys to suggest something for me.

Pc is mostly for gaming, and with current build i can easily play bf4 on any graphics, cod ww2 etc, but im having problems with this cpu overheating so i could just upgrade my whole rig now. Unfortunately money is limited so that's also why i would rather stay in ddr3 as i already got them..

Thanks in advance

Uhm maybe max 300e? Preferably lower ofc, the new cpu just has to be significantly better than fx-8350, maybe not 4970k tho.

And i will be needing a mobo too..

For gaming, a Haswell/Refresh i7 would be a great choice, and allow you to reuse your DDR3.

That being said though, budget plays a huge factor. From what I've seen locally, a Haswell i7 + Z87/Z97 board still commands a solid amount of investment.
For comparable money, there are new options available; including DDR4.

While DDR4 is not "necessary" from a performance standpoint, with newer hardware, that's what you'll need.
Ultimately, you'll need DDR4 eventually anyway.

IF you can find an i7-4790K + Board for below your 300EUR budget, then it would be a very solid option IMO.

Considering there are newer option, for <400EUR though - it's a little tough to justify unless it's really cheap.

Finland (that's SR-71 ) is a little strange though, as the i5-8400 is actually cheaper than a Ryzen5 1600, and it's a stronger performer.

Package deal, 395EUR vs about 440EUR, the i5-8400 would be the better buy, if you can save the money.

Probably not doable. Just the Haswell CPU will take up almost all of your budget (https://de.pcpartpicker.com/products/cpu/#f=34,40&sort=price&s=12,13).

I have no performance issues whatsoever. Also my cooler is great, Cryorig H7, thermal paste is ok. The chip goes to 80C on heavy gaming, doesnt throttle or have any issues (weird right), but it does crash every now and then.
