So for Christmas, I want to upgrade my budget CPU/Motherboard. The motherboard that i want to upgrade to uses the same socket (LGA 1151) and is the same brand. I have an unactivated copy of windows 10 (booted from usb, dont have optical drive and was wanting to buy the license next year) on my hard drive that the components that I want to upgrade are currently using. Will my hard drive boot? If so, will I need to reinstall windows? Still kind of new to PC parts/building. Thanks in advance

One last thing to be clear, if it does boot should i do a reinstall? or just delete old drivers?
