i have my main internal 1tb HDD (HDD-A) Everything is in there os,files etc.. i bought a 2nd internal 1tb HDD(HDD-B) i have backed up ONLY my files in HDD-B. now i want to format HDD-A and reinstall OS.

after reinstall, should i just plug HDD-B back in? will it not ask me to format HDD-B?(prefer answer from some who have done this. thanks!)

some info:
-when i mounted HDD-B yesterday i formatted it as NTFS and proceeded to copy my files

Solution
Once you are done re-installing the OS on HDD-A, you should be able to simply plug up HDD-B and use it no problem. You will not need to re-format it as you are not installing the OS on it. Hope this helps! Source: Done it multiple times.
