Hello folks,

So, I'm thinking of buying the GTX770 (to be direct, MSI Geforce GTX 770 Lightning 2GB GDDR5) and I'm kinda scared that my 600W LC power supply will not hold it. The 770 needs excact 600W, and I've got that much. I once run the 470 with a 50W short PSU, and the 470 ran just fine, well, until the PSU starting buzzing...
Anyways, will my PSU hold out, for atleast couple of months?

My other specs are:
Asus h61 m-k
i5 3570 4 cores
8gb ddr3 ram
1tb hdd, 250gb hdd
hd6870

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Is this your PSU?

I think it's not 80 plus certified. It has one 6-pin and one 6+2-pin auxiliary PCIE power connectors. That card needs two 8-pins.

I don't personally like and recommend using adapters for this purpose so either get a card with two 6-pin or 6+8-pin or change the PSU too. I'd say change PSU too.

Thanks Blackbird. Yes those Lightning cards are fast but are usually power hogs too. I actually started typing and didn't see your post otherwise wouldn't have posted :D
