CPU, MSI 150 PC mate, i5 6600k Black screen with cpu light on

msi 150 pc mate CPU light on pc will not post. my computer restarted during a windows update. Upon starting up my screen would not even display the MSI logo. Can't get to bios. I bought a new CPU and it still wont post. Not sure what I need to do.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for a minute)?

I tried just that a minute ago as per the MSI troubleshooting guide I found and there is no change. Still have the CPU light on the 'EZDEBUG' display.

It could be the board, then... Still using the 6600k, or bough different one?
