I'm building a new computer for atleast 144fps gameplay. Personally I don't mind low settings because I'm more into competitive games like csgo but I also play games like gta 5, witcher 3. Plus I'll also be purchasing a new monitor to go along with this build. I'd like to be conservative and say limit the build to $600 at most and $100-$300 for a monitor but if possible minimize the expense as most as possible.

Current I'm thinking about geting a
I3-8100
And waiting till the cheaper mobos come out and adding a gtx 1050 or 1060 6gb
Monitor - Need recommendations
Plus I'm reusing an ssd from my old computer
Power supply - Need recommendations
Fans - need reccomendations
Reusing ddr4 2400mhz ram

Yea I'll remember that! Thanks! Do you have an recomendations for a monitor that can refresh at 144hz or more? Also if you would like to post other builds I'd be happy to read them

Since you already have DDR4 ram, you might be able to get away with just upgrading your cpu in current build and then spending the rest on a good GPU.

What is your current build?

Thanks for the responses but for AAA titles would i be able to use a i3-8100 with the 1050 to get 144fps constant on low settings atleast or should get better parts?

What's the point in downvoting my initial response? If you have a 6th generation Mobo you can update your bios and throw in an I7-7700k and be golden for gaming, pulling as many frames as possible at 144hz. Was just asking your current situation to get a better idea on how to help you.

Oh sorry I must have misclicked thats totally on me I didn't mean to downvote. So if I understand I can use a 6th gen mobo and use the i7-7700k for gaming and get better performance while also saving as much as possible.

The 7700k is the best gaming CPU on the market if gaming is all you are after. If you have a 6th generation motherboard a bios update will allow it and you won't have to waste money on a new motherboard and you could spend that money on a better GPU. At 1080p the processor is usually the limiting factor on whether or not you can pull a consistent 144 frames in games. If I knew your current motherboard I could tell you whether or not this option is even viable for you. It would be the better option in terms of gaming performance for your $.

He has DDR4 ram in his current system he said he was going to reuse. That means he has at the earliest a skylake or ryzen system now.

Sorry for the confusion, The ddr4 ram isn't originally mine, it was given to me by a friend who's usually games with so I can create a new computer asap. My old specs died out on me, an i5-4690k and it's mobo just can't turn on. To be more clear the fan turns on but the motherboard turns off and immediately on. Plus I also have a gtx 750 but I'm looking to upgrade for better performance. Above 144 fps on every game with low-med graphics and 60fps on high. Plus any reccomendations for
monitors? (144hz or above for gaming)

You could also go with a ryzen 5 1400 to save a bit more money.

With the price of the 8th Gen Intel motherboards, you will get a more powerful processor with your budget if you go for the AMD option, but nothing wrong with the intel build. They are going to perform similar in gaming but the ryzen is much more versatile. I left room in the budget for a cheap case. You could always go for an RX 580 8gb instead of the 1060 if you wanted to go that route as well. As far as monitors go, I always check reddit.com/r/buildapcsales for good deals, there are often 144 hz monitors on there for under $180.
