Hey I just recieved the Evga 970 Ssc i ordered off of ebay for $180 to upgrade my system, I uninstalled my 7870 drivers and installed the newest Nvidia drivers, while playing a game to test the performance i experienced a pc shut down a few minutes in. I tried this multiple times and each time experienced a shutdown.

My components are as followed:
Samsung 320gb HDD
Gtx 970 Ssc
Evga 80+ Bronze 500w
Ecs h81h3-m4
8gigs of DDR3
Pentium g3258

The PSU should be more than enough to power the card with the included 6 and 8 pins considering the whole system should only pull 400 watts. So if anyone could give me a hint into what this could be so i know i didnt just spend 200 dollars for a graphics card i cant use.

could possibly be a bad power supply not putting out enough power? ran into a similar issue with a previous build, power supply was supposed to be 600w and wasn't even putting out 300w. the computer would power on and run fine, but once i opened a game it would go to load it and then just shut down due to lack of power. i would contact the manufacturer/merchant of the Power Supply to see about repairs/warranties/tests.
hope this helps your issue :)
