I am hoping to upgrade the laptop from 4 gig of ram to 8 gigs of ram. I don't know what brand to get. I am hoping to buy the ram on amazon so i can use Amazon Prime when i get it for a Christmas present. I am also looking to get SSD for the laptop but I don't know what millimeter thickness to get. All I know is I would like to get a 250 gig SSD from Amazon also.

Your mobile computing device has 2 slots for ram, and a maximum capacity of 8GB DDR3 1333MHz rated to run at 1.5v-1.65v. Per your SSD, if you want to replace the HDD with a straight drop in SSD, you should be looking at 9mm tall SSD's. Here's a disassembly guide for you.
