Some websites load quickly while others never load

I've been having this issue all day and it is infuriating. I generally use Ethernet to connect to the internet. My computer will load Facebook, Google services and other random websites. However, it will not load Reddit, canvas, this website(I'm on my phone) and the majority of websites I attempt to access. I have tried clearing my cache, using a different browser, manually changing my IP and DNS addresses to the open Google addresses, multiple Google extensions to get around DNS blocking, restarting my computer, and using different Ethernet ports in my house as well as using others computers to connect. I have noticed that only older mac book pros will load the desired websites while other windows computers have the same hold up as mine. I would appreciate any help, I need internet for finals week. I plan on calling my ISP tomorrow.

Well. I would connect directly to the modem as I suggested and test that first. If you continue to have issue. It is most likely a modem or Comcast routing issues.

We have a NOC that uses Comcast as the primary ISP since that is all we get in the area. They have routing issues at least 4 times a year we have to call and complain about... Comcast sucks.

You could see what your ISP says but generally around the end or beginning of each month is when sites undergo maintenance runs which could explain why you're going through some sites not loading as fast. Heck, I had an issue late last month when trying to download drivers from Asus's support site...it took me a week to get the drivers I needed since their site was inaccessible.

FYI, this site is also undergoing some bug fixes, so you should rule us out ;)

Sorry I don't know how to respond to an answer. Wouldn't that mean 99% of the websites are going through such intensive maintenance that they cannot load and the request time out? I have never had something like this happen before and I would have notice since I need to use these websites for school every day.

We need more info.

Firstly when you put in a custom DNS entry. Did it resolve the issue or no? I'm assuming not but still need it cleared up.

Secondly. What OS are you running? Is it fully up to date? Did you try different browsers? What versions of browsers are you using? (for example, IE 10 and older browsers are not supported by a lot of websites due to security issues), does the issues continued while using other browsers or not?

What is your ISP? Do you use the ISP provided modem as a router also or do you have your own router connected to it? If so is the modem in bridged mode? Have you tried connecting directly to the modem and performing test from a laptop to test if it is a modem issue or a router issue? What DNS is configured in your router? Have you updated any networking devices firmware?

Have you scanned your network for virus's or malware? Checked IE proxy settings to see if it is using a proxy? (commonly turned on by some viruses).

etc.... we need A LOT more information.

Ok I'll answer all of your questions. When I put in a custom DNS it did not fix anything. I am running Windows 10 that is fully up to date. I tried at least 4 other browsers(all up to date as well) and not one of them worked, I also checked the proxy settings and it changed nothing. My ISP is Comcast. We use a Comcast modem and router, it's a mess because we have 40+ people living in a house. I have not tried directly connecting to the modem. I am not sure what DNS is configured in my router, I assume whatever Comcast put it as. I have had no part in updating firmware but I would say that it probably has not. I have scanned for viruses. Also when i use tracert in an admistrator command window, the websites that work connect fine and shows me the various servers the connection goes through. However when use tracert for a website such as Reddit, I am told that the destination host is unreachable even though i can pull it up on my phone or on an older mac book pro which i have found are the only computer that loads all websites normally. I also checked my firewall settings and nothing changed even when I completely turned it off.
