SATA SSD VS M2 SSD for gaming

Hello everyone, I want to extend my storage on my computer. I don't know what to choose between
Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB(sata) and Samsung 960 EVO 250 GB(m2). Is there any difference ingame? Because I would go for more storage of Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB if there is no difference.

There is some difference but it is negligible. M.2 offers real advantages in file moving and workstation applications where large files take lots of times. For games that files are not that big. Also, you must know that on z170 boards and onwards run m.2 at the proper speed ie X4.

I am not looking to move files around, just to store/play games. I was thinking to take the 500gb one.
