Daily connectivity issue in small office

I'm working on a small office network. There is a modem that is provided by Comcast and a D-Link router. From the router there is only one or two WiFi devices and the router connects to a patch panel that heads to the different rooms in the office. There are about 8-9 devices in total.
Every morning the connection on each device has been lost. To regain the connection all that has to be done is a hard reset on the router.
I would like to eliminate the issue all together.
What I've done:
I've verified the DHCP and DNS settings on the router and modem. I turned DHCP off on the modem to allow the router to be the only device handing out addresses. I set a static address on the interface of the router to the modem. I went to each device on the network and ipconfig /release and /renew.
The issue is still persisting.
What I'm going to do next:
I forgot to check for firmware updates. So that's the next step.

I would appreciate any other helpful advice or suggestions other than replacing the network devices. That is the last resort.

Solution
Yeah often times, the firmware update to the router takes care of the connectivity issue. Worst case, you're going to need to invest in a new (robust)router. Speaking of reliable routers, we don't know what the make(D-Link) and model of your existing router is.
