cpu: ryzen 5 1600
gpu: sapphire nitro+ rx 580 8gb
ram: corsair 2666mhz 8gb ddr4
psu: evga 500bq
ssd: samsung 250gb
hdd: wd 1tb
Motherboard: msi b350 pc mate

My motherboard can't boot up in the motherboard's bios. The motherboard has a red light on it, next to the word boot. I guess there is something wrong. I tried everything, even removing the battery behind the gpu (boot battery i guess??). The monitor works, because if i turn the pc on, it displays the monitor brand (AOC). I really hope someone can help me out.

Is this a new build? Is the monitor connected to a GPU video port and not one of the motherboard ports?

Yes, it is a New build and my gpu is connected to the monitor, and btw, when the brand of my monitor pops up, i spam the delete key. But after that, the monitor displays: no signal

ahh well... it's one of the more common errors on a new ryzen build so it would have been nice were that your case. Another common problem is something on the motherboard getting shorted to the case when it's fastened in place: that's why bench testing a new system first is commonly advised.

Is it safe to assume you've already tried re-seating everything (disconnect then reconnect power supply connectors, memory, gpu, etc.) and checked that the CPU fan is spinning? Or pump whirring, as it were.

Lastly: it sounds like swapping components until you run into the problem.

Well, i didn't reconnect the psu connectors, ram and gpu. But the cpu fan is actually spinning. So should i disconnect and reconnect everyting?

i would. I would also consider taking everything out of the case and setting it up on a bench if that doesn't work.
