Hi there, yesterday a bit of a freak accident happened - Some dry wall just popped off the ceiling and hit my PC, ending the signal to the monitor. I quickly realised it dislodged my graphics card so i popped that back in and noticed my PC being very slow and games i normally play being unplayable.

I thought I'd look on CPU-Z to see if anything else was up, like missing RAM, and it showed that i have 14gb (what i should have), also giving me info on each slot. However, when i look at task manager's performance tab, it looks like only 8gb of ram is registering. I opened up and made sure they were all popped in and sure enough, still sluggish performance and Task manager shows 8GB Ram capacity.

Please advise on what to do next. Surely if CPU-Z is showing each slot's info, they're plugged in?

Specs:
Windows 7 64 bit
i7 860 2.8 ghz, quad core
14gb 667 ram
Nvidia Asus Strix 970 OC

Thanks in advance

If RAM shows up in CPU-Z, it is plugged in, but not necessarily working. I guess that piece of wall gave your PC quite a big hit, since it dislodged GPU (btw, that should be not possible, did you forgot to screw GPU to the case?). So after such big hit, you should check out every cable and component if it didn't get loose. Effectively you should re-plug everything, including CPU (and check out if it didn't bend any pins on it).
