Could overclocked memory result in random BSOD?

Hello, I have been having random BSOD since I built new computer..it does have old copy of windows transferred to an SSD..not sure if that matters..

BSOD is usually memory management or page fault error and occurs at random, IE surfing web, playing games, no set thing.

I have ran tests on the memory with the windows tool and nothing shows up. No new software and all drivers are current

This happens maybe once every 3 or 4 days, so not sure how to go about testing, do I pull all but 1 stick and just wait to see if it happens or what? I was thinking maybe it was because I have the memory " overclocked " in the BIOS

AMD Ryzen 7 1700x
ASUS Prime x370 pro
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000 MHz times 2 for 32 gigs RAM was running at 2100 something when first installed and bumped that up to 2600ish..sorry if exact numbers are relevant I can go into BIOS and look but I figured its really a yes or no question..

Times are a'changin', newest processor generations with increased IMC performance can greatly benefit of increased RAM performance. Ryzen is prime example of it.
The thing is that RAM frequency is not the only part of it's actual performance, Cas and other latency numbers also play large role.

My Kingston 3000MHz RAM is running at 2933MHz and quite low CAS. 12.13.13. Only thing I did are to turn on DOCP, let it set 2933MHz, set it back to Auto and changed Cas to those values but had to increase RAM Voltage to 1.4v.
You could have a problem because of older BIOS, newest one is 3401 and best BIOS versions are from 1201 and up.

YES !!! The answer is yes.
Improper RAM settings, even if not OCed can cause problems like BSOD.
How did you set it up, have you set DOCP (That's actually XMP profile) ? It should run at 2966 MHz, 2133MHz is it's starting frequency.
Another question is which BIOS version is installed ? 0803 seems to be best for that MB.

Sorry I didn't get a notification like usual so I didn't see there were any answers..thanks for replying

Yes DOCP is set
its running at 2666..wouldnt boot when set to 2966
Bios is 807

Set it up through bios by just increasing speed..new at doing anything of the sort so just followed a youtube vid

Don't know a lot about overclocking and all but by increasing starting frequency from 2133 to 2666 there was a significant improvement in Cenibench score
