So I was planning on building a pc with a Pentium G4560 and a H110m-s2pv(ddr4 version) and I assembled it with only the motherboard, cpu and psu because those are the parts I have at the moment and when I boot it, it beeps 5 times and turns on and off and doesn't post anything. I have heard I need to update the BIOS to support the Kaby lake but I have also heard that it should work. I have no way of updating the BIOS as I don't have an older skylake cpu. Looking at it now, I realized that a couple of cpu pins on the motherboard are bent( they weren't when I assembled it, must of happened when I was cleaning up. I'm just wondering what the problem was? Is it worth fixing the motherboard if it's not compatible anyway? Any tips for first time building?

Because the motherboard game with the older bios, the only way to fix it was to have a compatible BIOS and flash the motherboard.
If you have access to an older CPU skylake CPU, you can fix it. If you don't, you can't. It is possible a shop can fix it for you.

With luck and patience you can get the pins on the CPU straight enough to go in the socket. The socket closing will then help them align the rest of the way. if you don't have confidence to do the pin straightening yourself, might want to ask for some quotes.

1st - you can't start pc without any ram;
2nd - you need to fix bent cpu socket pins.

So - fix the pins, install ram and only then you'll be able to determine, if motherboard requires BIOS update.

If it does require the update, then either get skylake cpu or somebody, who can perform update for you.

Okay so I will save up to buy RAM and Other components, Fix the cpu pins and then I will check to be sure it needs the update, if it does im tempted to buy a new mobo anyway. After looking the 5 beeps apparently means a processor error but could this be affected by not having the other components?

Mostly like caused by having bend pins.

You won't know for sure until you have the pins straight and at least 1 stick of ram and a video card (if your motherboard does not have an on-board).

A very good motherboard. It is an upgrade over your old one not just a more compatible one.
