Hello!

I’m in a serious predicament right now... should I upgrade my FX6100 to something better or scrap the comp and get a new motherboard etc. I would essentially need everything. I was looking to simply upgrade to the FX8350 with a new RX 580. Money is tight so I either upgrade or save and eventually rebuild. My mentality is this... I built this comp about 6 years ago with the intention of it lasting a while, which it has. Load time is extremely fast and I do not have issues EXCEPT for when I want to play a demanding game such as Players Unknown. I will be 100% honest, I rarely play anything other than League, but if I get a wild hair to mix it up I want to be able to play something without issues. Currently I do not have FPS issues in League as I run everything on High and get over 120 Average FPS. Players Unknown on the other hand I have to run on low for the skipping to stop. Now with that being said, I am trying to prolong a full rebuild for as long as I can, but that fork is coming. What do you suggest my options are considering money is TIGHT with starting a new business and have about $500-600 to spend? Save and rebuild when my comp starts giving me problems or can I upgrade CPU/GPU and extend this rebuild for a couple years.

Solution
Time to scrap and jump to Ryzen or Coffee Lake.

Expand the budget in the future , by a couple hundred and your good to go.

Well I had a feeling this would be the synopsis... unfortunate. My thought process was maybe I can buy myself a few more years before basically building a new rig.

Makes sense the only thing I’m struggling to get around is that I don’t have any major issues because I don’t play big demanding games. So this would still be your answer considering that?

Does the z370 support my 200mm side fan in my Cooler Master HAF X fan? I may be blind but I’m not seeing anything.
