I'm going to buy the whole setup with gtx 1080 hybrid and a 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor.
And of course the problem is in which platform should I use, B350+r5 1600 or z370+ i5 8400 (they are similar in price)
I'm not planing on upgrading anytime soon so which one should suit me best for the given resolution?

Solution
For 60Hz 1080p monitor, both give you same performance. Keep in mind, 1600 oc can be close to 8400 in FPS, I will pay for 1600's doubled threads for multi-tasking/streaming/rendering better and better upgrade path. If only gaming, either one works. You need to factor in ram cost as well since Ryzen thrives from 3000+ ram while 2666 is sweet spot for Intel. Ram price is crazy atm.

The 8400 is about 20% faster than the 1600x. That gap will narrow with an overclock, but not enough for the 1600 to surpass the 8400. I would go with the 8400. Here is PC Gamer's review of the 8400 showing the performance difference. The 8400 is a great chip if you can get it for $200.

I can get a Hybrid 1080 for 535 euros and 1070 for around 450
And there is a big difference between them, especially when u overclock the 1080
