PSU: Corsair RM 650W
OS: Windows 10
Motherboard: Gigabyte z97x Gaming 5
CPU: i7 4790k @ 4.4ghz
Memory: 16GB DDR3
Hard Drive: SSD w/ Windows + 500GB Western Digital Black
Video Card: GTX 1080 (same things happened with R9 390X)
I was wondering if my CPU being set up to 4.4ghz could be causing issues in my games (CS:GO in particular) even if temps are fine? Is there some other thing that could be messing with it?
I stutter some, I have times where my game gets super "ripply" or "choppy" as if I can see each individual frame. This happens whether I cap my FPS lower or set the max to 0 and let it fly up to the 400-500 hundreds.
It's happened on an R9 390x as well as this new GTX 1080.
I didn't actually do the OC stuff myself, but I've never had issues with it to my knowledge..never any crashes / blue screening. Anytime I've checked temps they've been fine (I haven't recently, but I did other times I tried to figure this out).
Any ideas?
