i need to get new desktop i have

i3-6100 paired with a gt1050ti

the cpu am i looking for to be better than the i3

it will also be paired with a gt 1050

budget build numbers only

Are you looking to replace your i3 or are you building another budget machine?

If you are wanting to replace your i3 then I would go with an i5 6500 and be done with it.

If you are wanting to build a new system, it will be difficult to build a budget system that is better then an i3 because the i3 is the top end budget CPU. You could go with something cheaper, but it would not be better then your i3.
