Hello, I am putting together a custom editing pc. And mind that this is solely for video editing really. Games would be limited to older titles to relive some older times. Anyway I am looking into getting the GTX 1060 6GB card from either Gigabyte or Asus. I use Photoshop, Sony Vegas and may use Premiere Pro in the future. My current workstation is my laptop with 2 cores and integrated AMD graphics, so it will be a big step up.
But I would love to have smooth time line playback in 4K (downscaled if necessary) preview with. I know rendering will not matter too much between this or like a 1070 ti or 1080. But I was wondering since my budget will allow me to buy a higher card, but I do not want to either spend too less for not enough performance or overpay for overkill. So would you say this is sufficient for fx heavy 4K footage playback on my 3440:1440 ultrawide?
Rest of the build:
Case: Thermaltake View 28
CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken x52
Mb: Asus Strix x370 f
SSD: Samsung 250GB SSD M.2
HDD: Toshiba 3TB
GPU: 1060/1070ti/1080 (depends on what people say)
Any other possible changes and specifically about GPU will be appreciated. I am looking to spend anywhere between 300-550 for the graphics card, 1080ti is beyond what I want to spend. Thanks for responding!
