New Computer Build Problems

So I recently just did a new system build (my first) and I’ve run into some issues.

The build

Windows 10 (couldn’t get windows 7 to work)
Asrock AB350M
Ryzen 7 1700
Giel evo potenza 16Gb (2x8) ddr4
Zotac Mini GTX 1060 6gb
Corsair 650m PSU

The issues I’m having are lots of freezing (audio plays for a bit, video is frozen), black screen (audio sometimes stays, random restarts. I’ve also noticed that sometimes when I go to do a restart it doesn’t fully shut down? As in power stays on.

I did a fresh install of windows 10 multiple times with usb fall creators install. I’ve tried reseating ram and swapping spots, currently in a1 b1. I’ve done all windows updates, and run trouble shooter. I’ve looked for corrupted files and ran computer repair. I’ve made sure all drivers are updated with driver booster 5 or directly from manufacture website. I’ve tried to move the gpu to different slot, and checked seating of it and cpu.

I’m kinda just frustrated right now! I want to use this damn thing but it won’t let me finish one pubg game half the time!

Thanks in advance,

Zack

Solution
Replaced the Mobo with a Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 yesterday and have had zero problems. The other Mobo must have had issues with the Video card or just defective in some way....

Thanks to all that helped out during this! See ya in game!

Latest BIOS? Check BIOS settings. Start with default settings and boot. No XMP profile, fast boot, overclock, nothing... Let's get it working first!
Remove GPU and connect to monitor with onboard video only
Remove all USB except keyboard and mouse.

Those are your first steps...

I just did the latest bios which came out today I believe. I have not overclocked at all. What is xmp profile?

Yes I want it to work too. It seems so random, sometimes I can get a full game or even 2 then other times just opening a few internet pages causes it to lock up.

Extreme Memory Profile. It's basically a tool to get the memory to run at the speed it's meant to. But the BIOS will "safe mode" it by default to ensure you get a BOOT before you add it in.

https://www.techpowerup.com/memtest64/ - This can be used to check your memory once it's booted.

Also do all the other steps I gave you to eliminate one thing after another

True dat. Forgot it was a Ryzen. You can do all the rest though Zack, and test the videocard on another machine to rule it out of being an issue

idk How I can test the video card I don’t have another machine to try...

Could it all be caused by the ram compatibility? I’m just so damn frustrated this has been days of trying to get this to work!!! First was the ryzen and windows 7 issues that I dealt with. Now I’m stuck with this crap.

No friends with a PC you can try it on?

Incidentally, is your RAM on the mobo's QVL?

Is this your RAM? GP48GB2133C15SC because this is the only Geil sticks that are on your QVL

Okay! So update I got some compatible ram from a local on Craiglist (brand new, good guy) for cheaper then Newegg! He ended up going with a intel build so my luck paid off!

I’ve noticed much much more reliable when running!

I still have some small problems tho, I’ve encountered a few lock ups when gaming/streaming. I have also still encountered problems when doing a normal restart that the computer does not fully shut down... screen goes blank, monitor goes into power save mode but my tower seems to still be on (leds). Also when I do a start up it seems to be much slower then I would anticipate this system being. Icons load slow, same with task bar.

Thanks for the help this far btw!

OK, so you've tried the ram. But is it on the QVL?

If it is, the next check is your PSU. Any friend that you can borrow one from? It's leaning that way now. I was thinking memory leaks, but now the PSU with crashing like that. Inconsistent voltage possibly?

Well I noticed I’m getting the Disk usage at 100% constantly. So I’m thinking it could be that. The PSU I just got brand new, Corsair 650m.

And yes the new ram is on the QVL.

Okay so now I can’t even run the comp it’s constantly freezing. The windows start button is not working. Was going to try and just install a new copy of windows but it won’t even let me put in the license key before freezing.

It seems like a ton of window services
