Hello, so I just got gigabit internet installed in my house and I’m wondering about using power lines to hardware various devices to the internet. However my question is, since the electricity wiring is used to send the internet, if the electric wiring in my house is old (50ish years old) will they be able to support powelines at all? Especially my new 1000mb/sec speeds?

Thank you.

You may get better speeds than ethernet over power just using wireless. You may even already have a WAP built into your router. EoP I've always found to be my last resort if a cannot get good wireless connectivity no matter where I put the access point. Definitely not your high performance technology and if you are paying for a 1 Gigabit line you really want to take advantage of it : )
