I am getting new PC parts and I need help on what to get to make it compatible. The PC I have now is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0089KDCIU?tag=tomshardware_forum_vgl-20

Except I changed out the GPU to a Zotac GTX 970 and the Power Supply to a ThermalTake Smart Series 700w. I need to change my CPU. My desired CPU is a i7 7700 https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-7700-Processor-Frequency-Generation/dp/B01N0L41N7/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1512616542&sr=1-4&keywords=i7

I know I need to change my motherboard because the one I have now supports AMD. Can someone link a motherboard compatible with the computer I have now and new RAM compatible with the new motherboard? Also if there is anything else I need to change from a AMD PC to an Intel please tell me because I only have till the 11th to get these parts. Thank you! I am not that PC smart so all the help is appreciated!

Solution
well.. you could get 2x4GB ram sticks for now, or 1x8gb and get another 1x8GB later. This should cut you under 500 on that build. But you'll lack some ram in heavier tasks.

The theory behind this is that, 2x sticks will allow you to use Dual Channel ram setup (makes it faster). So if you get 2x4gb, it'll be "faster" right away. but if you add another 2x sticks, you'll have a higher failure chance on ram (ram sticks just have higher chances of failing [in comparison to other components], so if you have 4 instead of 2.. then "technically" you have higher chance of having one go bad, also it draws more power through your components to run the extra rams).

Have a look around at motherboards, for your Preference on Size, ATX/Mico ATX and...

it would really depend on what your PC is intended for.. but, I assume gaming?

I would personally skip out on the i7-7700, and go for an AMD 1600 or 1600x. the 1600 AMD CPU has 6 physical cores vs the i7-7700 4 physical and 4 hyper thread, this just means that when your CPU is under load accross the cores, the AMD will be stronger (this is where building your system for the futre comes in). Although, single core, the i7-7700 is stronger than the AMD, but it doesn't justify overlooking this cheaper option which does perform very well, and multicore tasks will be easier for the AMD. This is just something you would decide for yourself, unless you just want an i7 sticker.

Another very interesting build could be, i7-8700. it's got 6 cores + 6 Hyper threads, and it's Turbo boost frequency gets up to 4.2-4.5Ghz (depends on how many cores, or which tasks it's used for). This is quite a nice chip.. but a lot more expensive.

you would need to change your CPU+MOTHERBOARD+RAM.

AMD - 1600 Build Example (could go a bit more expensive on motherboard +30$? to get FULL ATX (full size) motherboard)

So I am looking at this list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vqjHjc and everything looks perfect all I want to know is, is there a cheaper memory alternative? Everything else is perfect Im just trying to go for under 500.
Also everything should be able to fit in my case right?

Have a look around at motherboards, for your Preference on Size, ATX/Mico ATX and so on, what changes is the amount of ram slots, PCI-E slots, Fan connector amounts and HDD Connector spots (this is the main list). There are plenty for 75-100$ range, although I think you'll be good with the one i picked. I did check your PC case, it supports ATX and Micro ATX motherboard sizes. From what's in the list, it should fit (from the specs I see)
