Problem woth my cpu

Hi I was wondering if someone would help me please. I have been an idiot a friend told me that going into the msconfig by holding the Windows key and R that Im not getting the maximum performance out of my computer so I went into msconfig boot options then advanced options and changed the proccessors to use 4 instead of 1 ever since I have done this it has ruined my computer my apps won't load and it is so slow. If anyone could help that would be great thank you

    go back into msconfig and change it back to one.

    go back into msconfig and change it back to one.

  3. Hi that's the only problem I can't it has completely ruined my pc it takes about 2 hours from restart to get to the desktop then just crashes
  4. I have also tried to start in safe mode from a few methods and even tried to restore it to an earlier point and nothing has changed its still really slow and still takes around 2 hours to get onto the desktop from restart

  8. just a shot in the dark here,but try this.with the pc shut down,unplug or switch off the psu.then hold down the start button for 10 seconds or so.then plug in or switch on the psu and try booting.

    what windows are you running and do you have install media?

  13. I'm using Windows 10 and no mate. Would I need to get Windows 10 on a CD or a usb and reinstall?

    you ahould be able to download your version of win10 from microsoft.make a bootable usb from the file and reinstall windows.there should be an option for a repair install so you can keep your files.
