Solution
You are gaming on 60-75hz 1080p monitor.
GTX970 should still serve you well.
Considering this and your current processor, I would even not recommend to upgrade the GPU at all.
1. GTX970 is more or less still on 1060 6GB level
2. 1070 or higher will be bottlenecked by your I7 2600 on some new heavy AAA games (e.g. BF1) and they can be also an overkill for 1080p 60-75 fps.

550W will run 1080Ti, a bit tight with OC but it will run.
If you haven't bought the PSU, I would pick something a bit stronger.
If you have it already, you can first try and see.

For I7 2600, I would not go higher than GTX1060. I7 2600 is already quite a bottleneck for 1080Ti on most new proc heavy AAA games.

1080Ti is only recommended for 4k 60hz or 1440p 144hz. If you are playing on 1080p 60fps, 1080p 144hz or 1440p 60hz, 1080Ti is an overkill.

If you aim to get those 144fps on new games, your proc is a dead meat!

Currently i am not looking to change the cpu cause in India intel cpus cost higher than the amd ones but if I go for the AMD build then i have to change ram also it will cost me more than a gpu, I am using Benq zowie RL2755 monitor and Asus Strix Gtx 970 4Gb oc Gpu by the way and i would not be overclocking the card.

For best value and better allrounder: Ryzen 7 1700
For best fps: I7 8700k
I7 8700k costs in a store near my home for €440 and Ryzen 7 1700 for only €295.
If you see something like this, I would simply take R7 1700 without thinking twice.
In this case, for an I7 8700k, you can get already a R7 1700 and a decent mobo.
