Hey guys , so yesterday i made an upgrade to an i7 8700k from an i7 4790.

There are some maps where i now get more fps that i couldnt play before like with more than 120 fps ,now i play them with 280 , but before there were also zones and maps where i got 300+ to 400 and now i get like 190-210 .

Can some1 help me figure out the issue?
Thanks very much

That depends on what settings they are gaming at and what resolution. He may gaming on low res and low settings.

The truth is, you are only going to get the fps that matches your monitor refresh rate. The highest refresh rate available today is 240hz at 1080p. So that means the highest fps you can possible get is 240 fps because the monitor can only refresh the pixels 240 times per second.

I don't know what monitor you have, but there are not a lot of 240hz panels out there. More than likely you if you have a 144hz or 60hz panel. That means 144fps or 60fps is as high as you can go. So the difference between 600 fps and 320 fps on a 144hz panel is exactly the same, 144fps.

Hi, sorry i'm late with this answer , my pc atm is like cpu i7 8700k non oc yet! ,
gtx 1070 , 16gb ddr4 , psu is 600 watts and motherboard is z370 gaming pro carbon
, i dont know what might be wrong :S Before i had 320 fps on csgo and now it's the same , which is weird i was expecting a little bit more for 700 euros :/

Thanks

CSGO does not need a 8700k to run well. What CPU did you have before? The 8700k is not a huge jump from the last several generations of Intel CPUs because it did not really boost single threaded performance. CSGO scales well with high IPC single threated processes. The 8700k's boost as to core count to increase multi threaded process. So the difference in performance from a 8700k and a 4790k in CSGO may only be a few fps, if that.

I had an i7 4790 non k , what i'm trying to figure out is since i wanna stream while playing at above 300 fps i was expecting this cpu to be able to do it , especially using the gpu to stream , but actually i'm getting lower fps while playing with this cpu .
