So I just rigged up a PC build using my old parts and now its got a problem.

The parts are on shown at this link. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ycYVkT

The problem is the cable connection from the DVI port on the PC to the monitor. I did not have a DVI to VGA cable, so I had to use an adapter. It's now shaky, and with that shaking the screen flickers between a black screen and the normal screen without the connection. What I mean by shaking is that I can move the cable connection connected to the port up and down. I've tried securing the GPU by screwing the nail to hold it in place, but it still keeps shaking. However, if I push the cable hard into the port it turns on the actual connected screen(Startup), but If I slightly touch it, it goes back to a black screen. An example would like charging an iPhone, you have to get the sweet spot or it doesn't charge.

I think the GPU is working fine since the screen can turn on and the fans are running fine. I believe its the connection that's screwing it, but I don't know how to fix it. I don't get what exactly is the problem since it's not a solid connection between the VGA cable to Adapter to DVI port.

One thing to note:
When I first turned it on to test it. It was working fine, cable connection was solid, no flicking, but with a blue screen.

Any solutions to this would be helpful.

Thank you.

The link above is the picture. So far I've gone through two VGA cables, so I don't think that's the problem. Also, I am using an adapter like the one you posted.

One more thing - The cable is in the 2nd port just cuz i was trying to see if they both weren't working. They dont work. Its still very shaky.

Edit: I know i keep saying I dont think thats the problem, but thats just what I think. I'm not an expert, so any solution to this is greatly appreciated.

So I was looking at other posts for similar problems to mine and i found one.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3274199/screen-black-wiggle-hdmi-cable.html

Now if the port is ruined, does that mean i need to buy a new GPU?

Onto another topic. I dont really need a GPU in the PC, because its only going to be used for internet and documents such as word; no games. I tried to use change the setting in BIOS to use the integrated graphics, but there was no option to change that and since the port to the GPU may be ruined. How do i get a connection from the PC to the monitor, because the motherboard i'm using doesn't have a port.

So from that, do i just need a new GPU?
