MSI Pro Carbon B350 Motherboard 'overrules' manual settings

Hi All,

I am quite new to overclocking but I am starting to get some quite nice results already. There is one thing I have not been able to figure out.

When I make certain changes in the bios, the motherboard tends to overrule these. Have a look at the screenshot below:

I chose to manually change the tCL timing to 15 (2nd column) however the system changes that to 16 instead (1st column). When I boot the system and look at CPU-Z, the system indeed runs it at CL16 rather than the CL15 that I chose.

The same goes for CPU-voltage:

I have manually entered 1.325V (2nd column) but the system turns that into 1.360V (1st column) and when I boot the system runs at 1.36V.

In both cases that first column is greyed out and I can't change anything there.

Does anyone have an idea how to change this? And make sure the system follows the instruction?

Thanks so much!

Marc

Of course!

CPU: AMD Ryzen 1600
Motherboard: MSI Pro Carbon B350 | Bios: E7B00AMS.160
Ram: Kingston HyperX DDR4 2133
SSD/HDD: 256GB Samsung SSD / 2TB WD HDD
GPU: MSI Radeon Rx 580 Gaming X 8
PSU: Corsair CX650M
Chassis: Corsair Spec Alpha
OS: Windows 10 Home

I think the bios version I have currently is indeed the latest.

Thanks!
