Best PSU for Radeon RX 580 Gaming 8GB (Low power causes crash?)

I recently bought a MSI Radeon RX 580 to upgrade from my old 2GB card. After installing, system booted slowly, noticeably slower than before. Once I got all the software and drivers installed (so I thought) I tried playing XCOM Enemy Unknown. The game ran flawlessly with the old card, although at medium settings. I started experiencing crashes, hard crashes to black screen then system shut itself off. After quite a bit of T/S I found a more recent driver on the manufacturer's website that enabled me to not only play the game but with near max settings. Before the driver update I could not even use higher than 1024x768 screen resolution in-game (but it ran). However, to my great disappointment I had another crash like before.
I am wondering if my new card might be pulling more power than the PSU can deliver especially after running hot for a few hours (fans spinning up, etc)?
This RX580 uses the 8-pin PCI-e connector, whereas my old card didn't need direct power connection at all. My question is, could lack of power be what is causing the crashes (black screen, buzzing sound, then PC shuts off)? Or, is it simply driver related/XCOM lack of optimization? Here are my specs:

MSI 990FXA Gaming MB
AMD FX-8370 CPU
PSU Seasonic S12 II Bronze - 520W
16 GB (2x8) Kingston HyperX RAM
WIN 10 Home Edition

NOTE: No overclocking at all.

Hello SR-71. PSU issue as in failing or not compatible somehow? Are you recommending I get a higher wattage, gold standard PSU or is there some testing I can try? This only started once I added the new card. Could also be software related and nothing to do with the PSU but I'm guessing.

I finally got around to installing the PSU you recommended. I also added some GSkill ram to eliminate any possibility of faulty ram. I completely removed all the old Nvidia drivers and other programs.

Booted up expecting to have an awesome Saturday night with my upgraded rig and 8GB Radeon RX580. 7 hours later I have a very expensive paperweight. No video signal. No Bios access. Even the keyboard isn't getting any power. After several hours I decided to punt and put the old Nvidia card back in. No change. I took the new RAM out and put the old in. No change. I checked all the cables and connections a dozen times and yes the 8-pin power connector labeled "CPU" is connected. Nothing, no change n o matter what I do now. I haven't tried putting the old PSU back in that you suggested was faulty or failing (I used it for 3 months since my last post-it isn't faulty just not great). Also, it seems absurd to change out the PSU again since I have lights and power to all fans, just no post, no bios, no video signal. I am at a total loss as to what to try now just to get it back running with the old gear. I even tried removing the CMOS battery because I think that was how I got the RX580 to come up last time before it started crashing. Didn't do anything.

I cannot think of anything else to try and I am so ticked off right now and tired. There is no reason I can think of for this. I have been building my own PC's for 20 years and never ran into this before.

EDIT: Seeing how power is not reaching my USB connected keyboard (it is backlit so I can tell when it gets power) and not being able to get any signal on either card now or into Bios I assume my MB had died. Due to this bad experience I think I might sell the RX580 on Ebay. Any offers for this MB killer?? :sarcastic:
