Right now i have my headphones plugged into the L-out port on my motherboard (https://gyazo.com/c4a303105342448f699f31e062c7f474) and I'm going to be getting these speaker soon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VAHYTG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and here are its connections (https://gyazo.com/fb39ea19d0e95f748996f4ba95c9e49c). Would i need to use a splitter and just turn off the speakers when not in use since both the headphones and speakers would be getting the same signal, or would i be able to plug the red and white ports from the speaker to separate ports on the motherboard to use them as a separate device?

Also would it be worth it to get a decent sound card to run one of the devices then leave the other connected to the motherboard?

Hopefully my questions all make sense.

Why not just plug the headphones into the port on the right speaker when you want to use headphones? Then just unplug them when you want to use the speakers.

Problem solved.

IF you are thinking about getting a sound card I would instead advice you to get one of this:

I have the dragonfly red and will give it a thumbs up.

Want to go better then get an dedicated amp.
