Hello

I would like to know what do you think what gives the better performance boost in games
Going from gtx 1080 to gtx 1080 ti
Or from i7 6700k to i7 8700k
(Not stock but manual oc performance for everything with good aftermarket air cooler)

For vr and 1440p144hz gsync monitor

6700k - 8700k is not going to be a huge performance gain for gaming. Synthetic benchmarks makes it look like it will be but real world applications not so much.

at 1440p 144hz you will get a performance gain out of a gtx 1080ti over a 1080, If you have the money it is very much so worth the upgrade.

1080 to 1080ti for sure as long as you can sell your current card for a good price.

Does your motherboard support 8700k with bios update. I know many are not.

20-30% to move from a high end card to a flagship card of the same generation at 1440p is not worth it in my eyes, especially considering the target Q1 launch of volta.

6-8 months ago, with more reason than a simple desire, sure spend the money. Right before a new architecture launch? A waste.

Volta does not have a confirmed launch date. With the failure of Vega it will not be soon. They have no need to release.
