Hi

I have a 120gb Crucial SSD that came with my PC (link to specific below) and im wondering if it would be worth an upgrade. Would i notice a big speed difference? quicker load times? Better benchmarks/gaming performance?

Ive heard the Samsung evo series are some of the best SSD's?

Is there a way i can just fully copy my current SSD to the new 1 and plug in and the computer wont know the difference?

Current SSD: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/storage-ssd-m500

Thanks :)

Better speed in your sceneario would be negligible. If you want to add another SSD/upgrade, I suggest the crucial mx300 series.

I prefer a fresh reinstall of Windows (with important files and large applications backed up if possible) rather than migrating/copying of the operating system to a new drive.

What exact SSDs? What exactly are you doing on the PC (more specifically any large file transfers)? Though, your current SSD is a very fine performing sata ssd. Even a jump to a high end Samsung NVMe SSD won't benefit you in boot times, or most application load times. You'd only see gaming performance uplift if your ram is full and resorts to pagefile on the SSD.

Really, the only reason I'd upgrade that SSD is for more space.

ok thanks, I use the computer for mostly gaming and then some general use after that. I have 20gig left on the 120ssd at the moment, extra size could be handy i guess, and if the speed is better then thats a bonus
