Hi i am about to purchase the i3 8350 k , msi z370 pro and 8gb of ddr4 2400mhz ram . I currently have a titan universal cpu cooler for my amd a8 6600k , will this be good enough for the i3 8350k or do i also have to buy a new cpu cooler and if do then what cpu cooler should i get?

Thanks

Solution
Does it have mounts for LGA115x? If so then it should fit on your board without any issue since the Socket H hole mounting hasn't changed since LGA1156. Looking at the cooler however, Id suggest you go for the Cryorig H7 cooler.

I agree with Lutfij, I would look at the Cryorig H7. Pretty good cooler for the 8350k and it is only $25.

The how about i3-8100? Will that cooler keep it cool? (no pun intended)

The 8100 comes with a stock cooler. So you would not need one. But it is still a 65 watt TDP.

I will admit, I am not familiar with the practice of passively cooling desktop CPUs. It is not something I have tried to do. If it was practical, then it would be more common.

Think of mobile chips, the snap dragon 835 has a 2.5 - 5 watt TDP. I would think you are going to have to get the TDP down substantially to effectively passively cool. But as I said, I am not an expert for passively cooling.
