Just Got A laptop with a 1060 and i7 7700hq was supposed to wait for gtx 2060 notebook

I Just Bought the Acer Predator Helios 300 With a GTX 1060 6gb and a 7700hq am having a feelimg that it was a bad purchase was I supposed to wait for the GTX 2060 notebook or is it a good purchase

Well, unless you wanted to wait until probably well into Q2, 3 or 4 of next year, at least, then I guess you probably had very little choice. You won't be seeing any mobile Volta GPUs anytime soon. It generally takes many months after the release of the first desktop cards before any mobile variants of a new architecture even begin to show up. Even then, it takes a while after that for manufacturers to implement those chips into their products so we might not see a Volta based laptop until 2019.

If you needed a gaming laptop now; then looking at future options is irrelevant.

There's always going to be a *new* GPU release in X number of months. If you always wait for the "next" option, you'd never buy anything.

If you're happy with the performance of the 7700HQ + 1060, then that's all that matters.
If you're not, consider returning it & looking at something with a 1070.
