GTX 1080 Founders Ed. Vs EVGA GTX 1080 SC

Sadly I needed to pick up a video card to replace in a clients Alienware Aurora R6 . Please google a image to see layout.

All that my local store had was the Founders Ed. blower style cooler. $550

Now the store has in stock the EVGA 1080 SC with a open cooler design for $550

Please look at the case and let me know which card will be better. Spoke with the store they are willing to swap them out.

I plan to swap them out unless I am told by members the blower style is better for this case.

Looks like the original card was a founders edition, blower style.
I would probably go with that for heat build up in the case concerns. Most OEM models have very little case flow, just enough to keep from throttling.
Dumping the extra heat in the case might cause overheating problems for the GPU and CPU.

The SC is a slightly overclocked version that is a touch faster.
That is the one to get if the price is the same.
I have the blower type card which I very much like.
It gets the heat directly out the back of the case.
If your client's pc has good front intake capability, (say two 120mm fans or better), then the open cooler design is good.
If the cooling capability is not great, then the blower cooler is better.
The main drawback to a blower is higher noise under heavy load and more heat generated within the case.
