I'm looking for a good rugged hard drive (1TB) that can withstand some abuse (like being bumped around a bit, etc) as I will be using it with my laptop for photo shoots and on-location (for landscape) so it will need to be rugged enough to survive being in a backpack while riding a bike or hiking, etc.
I've seen the Lacie rugged drives. Has anyone had any experience with them? I may consider an SSD in an external enclosure (probably the best/most durable option) but I had one previously, an older one, which ran hot all the time, and eventually died due to over heating I'm thinking after 3-4 years of heavy use.
I need at least 500GB but would prefer 1TB or more (so I'm thinking a HDD because of cost.)
