Hello,

I'd like to build a Gaming PC for around £700 preferably lower, but if there's some good hardware that'll make a big difference that's ok but not more then £800. I have my first build which is an old Gaming PC with ageing hardware which is slowly making life more difficult to try to maintain my gaming on such games as Witcher 3, Batman Arkham Knight, Dark Souls 3 (either stuttering, freezing or crashing :() My Core 2 Duo doesn't like that, I've tried to keep her going. It's probably not a great idea to buy right now considering I'm in the final year of my degree but I thought January might have some good deals, do you guys think it's worth waiting around until the new year to get some a cheaper build?

I was wondering if I could take some of the bits from my old computer to save some cash, I have a Samsung SSD 840 PRO Series and a Noctua CPU Cooler (not sure which, is it better to buy new with these?)

I have a rather cumbersome Cooler Master Cosmos tower for my current PC but I'd like to downsize this time if possible, if this adds to the cost though I don't mind if it has to be bigger.

Thanks for any replies in advance :)

Hi Nick,

It's a:

Current Mode: 1920 x 1200 (32 bit) (59Hz)
Monitor Name: SyncMaster T240,SyncMaster Magic T240(Digital)
Monitor Model: SyncMaster
Monitor Id: SAM0422

I have windows 10 on the ssd, does that mean I can just put it in the new hardware and it'll be ok?

Also the CPU cooler is Noctua NH-C12P Socket 775, AM2, AM2+ Processor Cooler. Just had a look at the invoice and it's 9 years old :|

I have a psu from around that time too in the old pc which is a 600w ocz
