Hi! I've got quite small problem with cable and port. This summer I noticed that from my cable flows water while it was rainy. I dried the cable but on port , rust started to appear. Now I started clean PC and noticed that. Do you guys have any ideas, how can I clean it?
Also rusted metal parts on end of rj-45 can cause a lag spikes and packet loss?
Here is link to screen how it looks

Thanks for attention and sorry for bad English. Have a nice day!

The cable probably will need a new connector. You could cut the old one off, and with the right tools put a new one on. The wires on the port, I think the only thing you could try would be VERY fine (800 grit) sandpaper wrapped around a Popsicle stick (or similar sized FLAT wooden time). Slowly insert the abrasive over the wires 4 or 5 times. Then use some contact enhancer like Pro Gold on the wires.

I don't answer PMs for non moderator matters ..
I bought new one month ago with this gummy endings, this one need to be pressed to work, becouse this one was maded by some guy from electric shop, and if I not pressed correctly its flashing with red diode. So I'm sure it's wire fault. If I push wire to port it's green. So it's annoying when sometimes I move PC and net turn off Thanks for help you are amazing. :D

You could try a tongue depressor to buff the prongs on the RJ45. BUT with water getting in, the connection from the wires is probably corroded also. You REALLY need to get the wire re-terminated.

What is special about this cable? Does it run in the wall? Outside? Even if you have to redo both ends of the cable to TIA568B standards, with the proper crimp tool and some practice it is not difficult.
