SMART detected failing hard drive. I purchased new WD Blue 1 terabyte hdd and installed in SATA port 2. I have an Asus motherboard and Samsung Blu-ray drive. I am unable to restore image from external hdd. So, I reinstalled windows 7 from install disk but can only start it as long as failing hdd is still plugged in. When failing hdd is removed I get a message that OS is not found. The first message was bootmgr missing. I have accessed bios but there is not a default bios option. I have used command line to activate new drive to no avail. I tried to rebuild boot mgr and that didn’t work. Can anyone help?
