hello, I am new to wireless networking and I was wondering if I could access my home network from another are via the internet. for an example let's say I have a go pro at home staring out my window, I can only see what the go pro sees live if I connect to the go pros Wi-Fi and I can only do it now if I am close to it. so can someone explain what it is called when I access my home network from a remote location and how it works?thanks!

I suspect you are in way over you head at the moment and have much to learn.

You have 2 issues. First to access your local network remotely you generally use some form of VPN. Your second problem it seems is your gopro is not actually on your local network. From the way you describe it you just access the device directly using wifi. So you would have to first actually get it on your local network. So instead of you connecting to the gopro the gopro would connect to your router.
