i was downloading guild wars 2 for my pc and left it on overnight. when i woke up my computer had blue screened with the error message "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT". this blue screen didnt go away and i had to force shut down my computer. i ran the system file checker to see if i had any corrupt files and it came up with no problems. i then uninstalled guild wars 2 to see if that was the problem, yet it still blue screened playing other games. i then ran the standard memory diagnostic in windows and it just told me i had hardware problems. after that i ran memtest and left it on overnight and it gave me the results shown here: https://imgur.com/a/ZtlMt

i did delete an old windows file as my pc updated recently. i doubt that caused it, but someone on here might tell me the opposite. i'd like to know how to read these results (i assume they are bad) and how i should proceed. i also read that i should run memtest on one stick at a time to see which one is the problem (if not both), and i would like to know how i do that.

id really prefer not having to get new ram, so im open to other ways to fix this issue without having to buy some more. if theres no other solution though, thats okay.

i have 16GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @665Mhz

thanks

I'd also run mem test on the second stick individually, IF it tests clean then there are remedies we can pursue to get you back up and running, but I suspect it's fubar.

What RAM exactly? most RAM has lifetime warranty these days.

You can figure out what stick it is by removing one and testing them one at a time.

There's no fixing this, replace the bad module or take it out of the machine and use it with 8 gigs. Hopefully you can just get warranty and get it replaced.

Here are the results of the second memtest, i think its looking good: https://imgur.com/a/QoaOU

I bought the ram on ebay so unfortunately i cant claim warranty on it. I'll just have to run my pc with 8gbs until i get another stick.

Also should i bother checking the other stick or just assume its bad and get rid of it?
