Solution
To be honest a Z370 and 8600k would have been a better cpu and motherboard combo. It's slightly faster, cheaper and hopefully being the latest motherboard chipset it gives better upgrade options.

Also that CX600 is a low quality unit, I wouldn't use it any build let alone one that looks like a gaming pc.

your cpu is kaby lake , 7th gen . your motherboard is z170 designed for skylake 6th gen. you need to ask the manufacturer to update your BIOS to the latest for it to work with your kaby lake cpu.

they wont do it for me, is it possible to do by myself?

It is, you just need a friend's skylake 6th gen CPU to plug into the Motherboard, so that you can boot up and update the bios. After that, you can switch out for 7700k.

switching to a 6700k should be fine right?

Yes, it should be okay with the motherboard. But the i7 6700k is more than 2 years old. Are you sure about that? The Z270 motherboards are not that much more expensive than the Z170, perhaps you can consider upgrading to a Z270 motherboard?
