Im looking to get a new gpu but im not sure about bottlenecking

Hey, im looking to upgrade my gpu from gtx 960 to 1060 ti because I found it for very cheap.
The problem though is that my cpu is AMD fx 6300 six core.
Would that cpu bottleneck?? The reason i am not upgrading cpu is because i would have to get a new motherboard which I can't afford...
Essentially only game i play and have played for 3 years now is Tom clancy's rainbow six siege.
I want to have as high fps as possible and stream/record at the same time.
Should i just save up for CPU or should i get the gtx 1060 (ti?)

Thanks in advance

More about gpu bottlenecking
  1. that spu would bottleneck pretty much everything currently on the market
  2. There is no GTX 1060 ti, its either the 1060 3gb or 1060 6gb (difference is vram/cuda cores). The 1060 would be a good upgrade over the 960. What is your CPU/GPU usage while gaming?
  3. The "best" CPU I could find, for your problem, when I did some minor searching was the "AMD FX-9590 Eight-Core". I can't say for sure it won't Bottleneck when compared to the videocard. But that's the cheapest solution, if you don't/can't change your MoBo.
(I'm using parts that are 2 years old now, and everything I play is still fine on ultra or high graphics, but I only use 1 screen. Most people use 2 or more screens. That's the main reason why people use more powerful PSU's, GPU's and multiple videocards.)
  4. apologies i didnt mean TI i meant 6gb or 3gb.
I will look into that fx 9590 cpu but once i wake up tomorrow haha

That 9590 is a massive waste of money, it draws a lot of power and produces a ton of heat. Get the GTX 1060 6gb now and then save up for a Ryzen 3 1200/B350 motherboard & DDR4 memory as it would easily outperform that 9590/6300.

the gpu would be a nice upgrade

but your current cpu is inadequate for what you want to do and there is no upgrade you can do that is worth the bother or time

dont waste the money, leave it as is

save for a complete system upgrade
  7. Ok thanks for all the answers, i will buy the gpu now for cheap and then afterwards i'll get the cpu, maybe for christmas.

you need a whole system upgrade

the 9590 only works in very specific motherboards with stout vrm's and power delivery and you would also need a top of the line cpu cooler

there is no upgrade in your current platform that is worth either the cost or hassle
