Pc turns off just after booting

Like the title says my pc is turning off right after booting. I was on it a few hours ago before I unplugged it to move it to another room.

It boots up for about 7 seconds and there is no signal from my monitor. Sometimes it will boot up with the bios about to be displayed then shuts off again.

I have tried moving my ram into different slots, and even tried booting with just one stick of ram.

I have also tried removing the gpu and booting it with int. graphics but still the same issue.

Also a few days ago my computer was bsod straight after booting but a windows update seemed to fix that.

Any help appreciated.

The whole pc turns off after about 7-8 seconds with no signal, sometimes it gets signal and shows the bios for a few seconds then turns off again, so i dont think its my monitor or gpu.

Have you tried resetting the Bios by taking out the battery, turning off and unplugging the psu for at least 25 seconds than putting the battery back in then turning the pc on again? It worked for me once.

Also, consider the possibility of some component having been damaged while you moved the pc from one room to another, have you banged the tower anywhere while moving it? Seems to me like a damaged psu, but it could also be the motherboard.

I havent tried that, is it safe to pry it out with something as i remember it being a pain to remove.

And im pretty sure i didnt bang it im usually pretty careful when moving it

It's not dangerous to remove the battery from the MB, as long as you're careful. I usually use a small screw driver to sort of 'pry it out'.

Give us feedback on what happens after you've tried it.

Sounds like a motherboard issue to me. I would try and at least eliminate the psu problem possibility by testing it on another pc.

An update to this, the next day my pc worked again after turning it on, only worked for around 20 minutes however before jist shutting off instantly.

All apps were running very slowly, not sure if thats because CMOS was just taken out or maybe my cpu is having issues
