Hi guys, beginner overclocker here, I just built my first system and have been messing around with trying to overclock it. I've set the voltage manually to 1.2V and have been going up in core clock incrementally to see if it still posts. I was told that a 4.6ghz overclock at 1.2V is pretty good, so I kept going up. I'm at 4.8Ghz at 1.2v and have been stress testing my PC for about an hour using Realbench and it's still only at about 75C air cooled?? is this normal or am I not overclocking correctly and only think that I won the silicone lottery here...?

My PC specs are:
Mobo - Asus prime z270-a
CPU - i5-7600k
GPU - Asus Dual GTX 1060 6Gb
DDR4 RAM 3200Mhz
Air cooler - Cryorig H7
PSU - Corsair CS650M

You are doing very well. I would just double check stability with a Prime95 version 26.6 test for about 15 minutes to start with as well as the RealBench that you have already done. I think you must have a good CPU...silcone lottery win!!!

Thanks for answering! I hoped it was good. :) I heard using prime95 was a bad idea as the newer versions were just too power hungry...? Is 26.6 the one that was still ok to use? Is there other stress tests i should be doing too?
