Is my card just a bad overclocker or something should be working?

Hello

I have a gtx 1080 ti it seem to be stable for longer at max at 2025-2050mhz
(Its not staying at 1 frequency)
I have tryed everything even flashing a custom bios to increase power limit and Increasing the voltage to 100% in msi afterburner nothing seem to help :/

I dont think im temperature limited since the card seem to be going to 75C and stopping there with my custom fan profile

Would watercooling increase its max oc or i just lost the silicon lottery? I have seen people with 2110mhz cores on this card! Is it ever worth it worrying about it or the difference is negligible in games?

Solution
At 1080p 60hz your 1080ti can't even close close to stretching its legs. The 1080ti won't be able to really show off until you are running 1440p with high refresh rates or 4k. Once you get a different monitor when you can actually do a proper test, then I would worry about seeing what it can fully overclock to. For a 1080p monitor, just enjoy the insane amount of overpowered GPU experience you can.

For best results in overclocking GPUs, you need to put the slider for Power Limit to max. But the real question is, what resolution are you running and are you having issues with poor performance? Considering the 1080ti is THE MOST POWERFUL GPU, I'd be surprised if you are having issues with performance, if you are overclocking just to overclock, then don't stress about it. Yes I know everybody wants the most bang for their buck, but you could be right that you lost in the silicon lotto and just be happy that you are able to afford such an expensive GPU before you play with it so much that you jack something up and brick your card.

For now im at 1080p&60hz i was just testing since i just bought the card xP

I did put the power limit all the way 120% even tryed a custom bios with increased power but it did not seem to matter at all

and since it was a bios for a card with a different fan setup my fan was acting up so i changed my bios back

I havent tested with many games just shadow of war i can set it to 4k scaling
In 4k with shadow of wars in game benchmark all settings as high as i could set them it did 56fps average 110 max and 40 min (althou i havent seen higher than 65 and lower than 49)

I stability tested with haven but i cant remember my score there xP

Yeah, founders edition cards don't have a great cooling system and I've heard that they aren't great overclockers. I honestly wouldn't get rid of it, since it is powerful enough as it is to be able to play virtually anything at max settings. Just hang on to it until it is time to upgrade. That is unless you are rich and just want to lose a couple hundred dollars by selling your card and then drop another $800ish on something new. Obviously it is your call, but there's my 2 cents.

Nop im not rich or i would have already done that xP

I dont think overclocking has that much to do with founders i have seen tests with founders outperforming custom cards (obviously while sounding like a plane take off) imo thats just pure luck thiese days :/

Im not planning to sell it now but i dont think ill have it by summer ;)
Or not in my computer at least since i still like its looks so if it stays alive i might keep it as "decoration" for my desk ;P thou i would still prefer it going higher than +144 on core and +580 on vram :/
