Okay, so i've bought a used cpu and i'm trying to upgrade it and i realized that the psu sux big time. It might be one of the reasons why my cpu shut down 2 times in the past 3 days (never happened before but it did and its not often, like i said 2 times, no bsod and no error). It must be due to power outage. It never happened when i used a gtx 1060 3gb. Only happened after i upgraded it to the gtx 1070
Then i checked and realized my PSU was a generic and lousy brand. CIT 500w PSU,
Anyway, this will be my specs:
Processor: from i5 6600 to I7 7700k (coming soon)
Mobo: MSI B250m mortar
Ram: 16gb of ram ddr 4 (2x8 2666mhz, 2x8 2400mhz) but i think my mobo only supports 2400mhz
CPU Cooler: from Intel stock cooler to Noctua NH-D15S (arriving soon)
PSU: Seasonic S12-II 620W 80+ Bronze (short of money to get better one but i heard its fine)
GPU: from Gtx 1060 mini itx to Gigabyte gtx 1070 windforce
SSD: 1 64gb and 1 500gb (not important) the 500gb one was newly added
HDD: 1 TB... (not important)
Case: CIT F3 (generic brand)
So my question is will the PSU support my system in the long run? Im not planning on overclocking any time soon, but i might. And will the CPU cooler support overclocking without extravagant increase in temperature?
Thanks. This thread is pinpointed on the cooler and psu because i just ordered them from amazon and I really wanna get my system to work in 2 days. My old psu might damage my hardware and I cant wait to play games.
