Why did my ethernet suddenly stop working?

So I was just gaming and suddenly my internet turned off. I thought this was a problem with the router because it used to go out for 1-2 seconds many times, but when I checked the back of the PC, the green LED to indicate that the ethernet is connected wasn't lit. Troubleshooting told that there are no drivers, which is strange since it was working just fine a few moments before.

What has caused this and what should I do now? Can this even be fixed?

Double check your router, reset it manually anyways. Check other equipment such as a Cable or DSL Modem. You're ISP maybe or may have went down, check that as well. See if you can use another device to connect to your network and reach the internet.
